Recap and Results for Rounds 5&6 of the CWA Yamaha Canadian Watercross and Freestyle Tour
2013-08-11

Rounds 5&6 of the Yamaha Canadian Watercross and Freestyle Tour, held in Belle River, ON, are now in the books! The battle continues in the ProAm Ski Stock with Dave Davidson and Nic Wallis swapping top spots. American Anne Bigsby took a podium position in the ProAm Ski Stock class on Saturday and won the highly popular Masters Ski Stock class on Sunday. In the ProAm Runabout Open Class, Allan Dolecki took the win on his Sea-Doo on Saturday and Yamaha's Amy Green took the top spot on Sunday. Rick Maj and Larry Letke traded wins in the Runabout 800 Class, and Daniel Campanella pulled off wins both days in the Novice Ski Stock class. Newcomer Danny Viset took top honors in Freestyle out of a field of seven riders, with Remi Voyer scoring right behind him. The CWA Crew and Racer BBQ Social was a huge hit on Saturday night. Who knew all the beautiful racers, wives, sisters, and mothers could cook so good!?! The CWA community is like no other in the world. After missing it for almost 10 years, Canadian racers appreciate the opportunity to race together, and they welcome the riders from across the U.S. that join them. The competition is fierce on the track, but the camaraderie on land is unmatched.

Parents of the juniors even tested their skills on the track. Most of them never having raced before, the parents took the opportunity to see what it's like to maneuver around the buoys while piloting a ski. Nine parents hit the water for the first ever event of it's kind, with Dwayne O'Connor, Angelo Campanella and Beth Hulett rounding out the top three.
